Has anyone ever used doggie dramamine?

We are going to have our dog in the car for apx 5 days while we relocate cross country. He does not throw up, but gets the poopies whenever he goes for a ride (even short trips, like to the park). He does not move around at all in the car, except if has to poop, then he will get up and let us know.

Our Vet said that there is a motion sickness med that she can give us, but I really want feed back from someone other than her.

Side effects?
Behavior?
Appetite?

Any help would be greatly appreciated... thanks!
We have not been given any just yet. Mostly I want to know if it will help him relax and not "get the poopies"

I used it once for a dog that got car sick and threw up. It worked just fine. The dog settled down and slept most of the trip. I don't remember any negative effects on appetite. Without the meds the dog was too nauseous to care about food anyway.

Just follow your vets directions for dosage and your dog do well. I believe this to be a pretty safe drug. It's certainly better than cleaning up the mess in the car.
