why TAMA front head for Drum Bass dont have the front hole?

why is the reason of the TAMA front head in bass drum heads dont have this hole???

and how i can do one in each drum head without danger of spoil the head??? thanks

Not all bass drum heads have holes in them. It's just a matter of personal preference.

I've been playing drum set for quite some time, and after owning heads both with and without the hole, I really don't have a preference either way.

If you're planning on recording any time soon, the hole definitely makes internal microphone placement a whole lot easier.

If you really want to cut a whole in your bass drum, you do it by placing a round object, such as a saucer, on the head and cutting around it with a box cutter. Alternatively, you can buy a kit such as this one: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Bass-Drum-Os-Hole-Cutter?sku=443322
