is it possible to attach a zoom 4 microphone to a boomstand?

the zoom 4 isn't a conventional microphone so i was just wondering whether it can be attached to a boom stand, and which boomstand to get?

So I guess you are using your zoom H4n with a DSLR for video, which actually, JimA, if you knew what a zoom H4n was, and that they were widely used by film-makers, you would know it was the correct forum to ask....

Anyway, the coffee loving Jim and I have our little spats. If Jim hasn't heard of it or doesn't know, he speaks anyway. A cynic might think he was trying to rack up points rather than be helpful.

The zoom unit has a built in XY mic arrangement akin to a stereo pair, I think it's the wrong mic for close up sound, I would instead suggest getting something like a Rode NTG-1 or 2, or a Sennheiser K6/ME66 rifle mic and run it into one of the XLRs.

The Rode NTG-2 performs very closely to the sennheiser (I use both) for a third of the cost.

The zoom itself has a standard tripod socket and comes supplied with a mic stand adaptor clip.

I prefer the Beachtek route for DSLRs as it cuts down on file management, and the DXA-SLR can also supply phantom if required (NTG-2 and K6/ME66 also take internal AA batt or phantom)
