Should I get this drum set? If not, any other recommendations?

I might get a drum set for my birthday, and I just wasn't sure if the tom sizes were large enough, like if I wanted to go with something that had a 12, 14, 16 as opposed to the 8, 10, 12 with this set. Is the 12 big enough to have a fairly low sound? If not, what other kits are good for a full size that are around $400?
This IS my first drum set, just for those who were wondering.

It's about as good of a deal as you'll find on a new entry level kit with cymbals. The cymbals won't be very good but fine for a beginner. I do agree you will certainly get a better kit used but that is totally up to you. If you don't feel comfortable buying used this is a good starter set. I do totally agree that a set with 12, 13, 16 toms would be better than 10, 12, 14, mainly because they are easier to tune. Many entry level kits do have the smaller toms now for some reason. Below is a link to a Sound Percussion Kit that has the standard size toms. They're import drums obviously, but so are PDP. I'm including a link with and without cymbals.
