Changing colors of drum hardware?

I'm planning on purchasing a drumset soon. The only problem is that the color of the wood doesnt seem to go with the hardware. Is it possible to change the colors of the rims and lugs without damaging them? I'm guessing if you use the right paint and make sure it doesnt get on the wood part of the drum, it should be ok.

Sorry, but yes it is quite possible to paint your drumset a different color. But there may be a few problems with it. Because painting a drumset is EXTREMELY complicated. It may not look hard but it definitely is.

You can airbrush them, but I would go to a professional if you want the all-over even paint look. Airbrushing is great for intricate designs, embellishments, or details, but not so great for multi-layered color effects like a metallic fleck finish.
