Evans G1 coated or G2 coated drum heads for rock/funk drumming?

Which would you recommend and why?

this is really down to personal preference. most rock drummers will use the g1 for certain applications, mainly live because you get a full sound with my attack. with the g2s, its better for recording because you get less sustain with more stick definition and a slightly brighter sound. you should get the g1s with muffling rings. thats probably the sound you're going for.
