Is my necklace chain still in my washer or not?

Lost a necklace chain down our Amana heavy duty washing machine (an older model). Have removed agitator, but it wasn't underneath that. The chain was small enough to go through the holes in the inner tub, but heavy enough that it seems unlikely its been pumped up through the outtake hose. I have checked both the hose from the drum to the filter, and the outtake hose. The only possibilities remaining are that it might be caught in the pump/filter (they seem to be the same device on this model) or that it is still in the outer drum. If neither of these is possible, then the chain is gone, and we'd like to know this before we give up on it. We have used the washer once or twice since the chain was lost. Is it possible that it's still in there?
