Bass Amp Buying Help!!! Salsa Band?

I need some help choosing a bass amp for a new bass guitar. It wont be used with a rock band, but instead salsa, trumpets and latin percussion. Most guides i've read recommend 300 watts if you have a drummer, but timbales n congas are not as loud as a full drum kit. Will my bass be ok with 60 watts of power?? Will it need more?? looking for good value, that does its job, at good price. i dont want to buy something that isnt good enough and have to spend more later.

i may be playing in the open air at times if that's a factor.

i usually use a stand up bass but i'm switching to electric for convenience. PLEASE HELP!!
I dont have the upright bass anymore. just a new davison bass guitar. someone said 150 watts is what i need,,, can anyone 2nd that?

I use an Ashdown with a 400 watt Peavy Amp. Now, the Ashdown ABM C210T-500 Bass Combo Amp, 2 10" speakers is an awesome amp and if you can get one second-hand, you will be well served.

Either of these amp will give you a good punchy bass sound which is what salsa is about. You will definitely groove with either of these amp.
