If i want to work at a drum company like Yamaha,DW or Ludwig when i grow up what show i go to college for?

I really have a strong passion for drums and i love playing and watching drums and sometimes trying to build a set. So i was wondering if anyone knew what i should look into studying in college?

lol we must have very similar taste. I really wanted to work for a cymbal maker. that dream has yet to come true, but i have the perfect degree for it if i ever do: materials engineer major with music minor background. if you can handle the science and math, this is a GREAT route to go, mainly because if you cant find a job making drums, an engineering degree is a great fallback. you can find plenty of work until your dream job opens up. i originally wanted to study audio engineering, which would also be great for you. but this involves a lot of room/space design relating to acoustics, which is also pretty cool in my opinion. audio engineer can also refer to the sound or recording engineer in a studio, which is much different.

as a materials engineer, i deal in all sorts of metals, polymers, and ceramics, which would be very useful information if you end up designing a drum. i chose to specialize in metals so that one day, i could work for zildjian or paiste
