About the cheating scandal for Tom Brady and the Patriots...?

I'm an avid football fan, but I have a question for all you hardcore football fans out there. As I understand it, Brady has someone video tape another teams practices so he is well prepared for their plays. If this is the case, who the f*ck cares? This is a multi-billion dollar business, and good teams have tapes of other teams that they watch. Why is it illegal to know what they will be doing against you next week or what hand signals the coach will make for a play? Shortly put, Patriots want to win, and will do what it takes to win. If the Cardinals (I'm from Arizona) put their energy into figuring out what other teams were preparing to do, imagine how much better (over .500) they would be. Why is the use of technology and understanding your opponenet seen as cheating? Shouldn't the opponents be prepared for anything, and being on the spot?

I have heard that there are parts of some team practices that are open to the public, and yes teams do tape them, no that is not against league rules. This is done quite often in the pre-season, and it is not prohibitted.

The taping incident that was a problem wasn't brady. it was the coach, what they were doing was wrong, and they were punished. I think it was blown out of porportion.
