(Drummer's only) How long do your cymbals last?

I have an 18 inch Crash Ride cymbal, 10 inch splash and a pair of 14 inch hi hats, all of which have been heavily used (I can see a lot of scuff markings). How long will they last before they split, crack, or break in any way? So, how long have your cymbals lasted so far?

Cymbals can last for years and years.
If stored properly, not exposed to extreme temperatures and not stored in humid conditions or in salty sea air, they should last many, many years.
I got some hand me-down-cheaply made cymbals from a friend in about 1978 (made in the early 70's probably). ...one had a chunk out of the side (a high hat cymbal) and a ride had a little split about an inch from the edge, and in 10 years they did not break or split anymore than they were.
I don't know how he broke them in the first place, or if they even broke when he was playing them.

But I'd say unless you are a Gorilla, then your cymbals will last indefinitely, and you can use them until they get so old that they lose their ring from oxidation or corrosion.
Don't worry about scuff marks. They should last until they start sounding crappy.
