Which drum set would you buy for a 10 year old?

My son is 10 and thinks he wants to play the drums. I don't want to spend thousands of dollars on his first set because who knows if he'll play them more than a month. I really don't know anything about drums...

I found these 2 sets... Which one would you pick?

Peavey International Series I - Price $300
- Used only a few times

The first kit is far superior and a bargain at that price. Personally, I always go for quality. Also, if he doesn't continue, you will still have a high resale value.
