Snare problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Hey I got a really important question to ask

I recently just brought a new head for it

and EVERY TIME I hit the snare drum a tiny bit off the centre ( I would say around 1 inch in any direction!) of it it gives off a bad buzz which sounds like the snare wires are not tightened enough, But the snare wires are tight as possible, I want to loosen them but I cant without it even sounding worse!! so please can anyone help me??? Its really messing up my play!!

Check your snare for bent or deformed wires. If they are bent and not resting on the bottom head you'll get more buzz. Check your bottom head also. Check ALL your lugs and any other metal parts on your snare to see if something is loose. You can also dampen your snare with some cloth or tape, you'll have to experiment with the placement. When you put the new head on did you tighten each lug equally in pairs opposite each other, working your way around the head? Hope some of this helps buddy.
