What is the drum set used in the recording of Avenged Sevenfold's "City of Evil"?

That snare drum sound is awesome, especially in "Beast and the Harlot". Has it something to do with the production, or is it the drum itself?

Anyway, I want to know everything there is to know about that snare: dimensions, wood, brand, the way it's miked...anything and everything.
